The season began in Florida with several new varieties making an impression. Both 21-1820i and 21-1812i* were distinctive in yield, while18-1309 showed holding power. A favorite in several categories were, 21-1834i* and 20-1950. These items presented not one or two favorable traits, but several. Forerunner, Allrounder, Double Eagle, TripleThreat and Astronaut continue to deliver for the Florida market in yield, ear size, holding power and a good eating quality in the stressful Fall and Winter season. The Georgia market saw some new shipping varieties that had strong holding ability, 18-1453, 21-1820i*, 21-1812i* and 21-1831i* and 21-1841i*, which are the bicolor sisters to the 20 and 12.
