Xanadu

Taking a look back at a mechanical harvest of Xanadu in the Midwest this year. Xanadu, and most of the Nirvana Series, now have the new sh2i gene. This gives these varieties better emergence and vigor, while still delivering the same extraordinary juicy bite and flavor that has consumers coming back for more. The Nirvana Series sweet is a favorite with growers and consumers on several levels.

It was a good year for onions in the Pacific Northwest Basin. But DEFENDER took it to another level with a record yield with 57 tons per acre which translates into 1,140 bags per acre. Defender is a main season yellow long day for the Western United States. It is a vigorous plant with strong erect tops and roots that give it a strong canopy. Defender has a high percentage of single centers, good ring separation, and uniformity in bulb shape with a rich bronze colored scale.
